Walkway & Dry Stream Bed Villanova

A closer look at a Villanova property…

These former clients called us back for a second project at their Villanova property. They needed a safe and stylish path leading from their home to the backyard patio.

First, we created a sitting area in their woods where they could sit in the shade during the warmer summer months.  We created this sitting area of irregular flagstone and installed a matching stepping stone pathway to their lawn area.

Next we created a ‘dry stream bed’ to channel water from summer storms and heavy rains that previously had caused erosion through their lawn.  The various sizes of river rocks punctuated with larger boulderettes (our term for small boulders) provides a more natural, aesthetically pleasing and functional addition.

Lastly we leveled an area by the side of their garage for a potting table.  We laid machine cut flagstone atop crushed stone to provide a safe and level area and installed three 4’ wide machine cut bluestone steps for easy access.
